  1. yes, you can save a track configuration, which includes inserteffects and evrything else trackrelated (gain, eq, pan, tracklevel). the exception is the masterbus, it's not possible there. in prior versions of samplitude (until pro x), there was the function of saving effectchains (objects, tracks, masterbus) and load them again. now we only have backwardscompatibility to effectchains saved in older versions via a hidden load function, a keyboard shortcut when the effectsrouting window is open. the save effectchain functionality is ditched, which is a pity :-(
  2. you can just point samplitude to different folders in sequence, it will remember what it found before. the only thing to bear in mind is, that when new plugs are added, it will only automatically scan them, if they are in the place that you pointed to as last one (this place will still be visible in systemsettings).

    Forum Software update

hm, i can't bring signatures back, that i made invisible inside the forum. when i go to account settings/signatures i can enable or disable the visibility of signatures globally, nothing else. there is no function like "make hidden signatures visible again" or similar. disabling and reenabling the global setting does not bring signatures back, that i made invisible inside the forum directly. any ideas?

same question here! how to bring the signatures back, when they have been hidden?

    Forum Software update

have to say i really like the new updated forumsoftware. much easier now to manage everything and after some "getting used to", i really like visual appearance. very clear and organized.

there is still this biiiig linespacing (at least here on my tablet browser). anyone else seeing this? can it be reduced to "normal linespacing"?

many people including me have "footers" below every post, where infos regarding os-system, equipment, etc. are being stated. they are all gone. i hope they are going to be rebuilt by the system.

    Forum Software update

i generally like the new appearance! one bad thing though: all the profiles from users dissappeared. can you update that from the old version or do we have to write it all again?
  11. hey tom, thanks for the reply! it's great to see you active here! this kind of action was dearly missed. and yes please, discuss it with the team if there are resources to moderate a features and bugs part of this forum, i believe it could be a great additional help for samplitude and its refinement/evolution as a program. thanks!
  12. this was missed and requested over and over since pro x2. now that we have this new part of the forum (featurerequests and bugs), which is great and much appreciated by the way, i thought i make a start with this one so: please bring back pluginchain saving in masterbus, tracks and objects!!! together with the ability to load these chains on masterbus, tracks and objects. thanks! this was one great feature of prior versions and you should now by now (if you followed the reactions in here), that many people used this and miss it dearly.
  13. i just realised, that this forumpart is titled "accessibility". so i may have got this wrong and been happy too early. however, then this is a featurerequest for a forumpart for general featurerequests

    Load VIDEO advice?

in the "read me" of the new update for pro x3, they wrote of some video fixes. have you already updated? it may remove some trouble ...

2 MIC LEVELS appearing on track

great to hear, that the combined effort of us three "helpers" here cleared things for you bob. the thing that "mono mix" could be the issue, popped up in my head while writing my response AND having seen terrys screenshots. so this was real community-team-work

2 MIC LEVELS appearing on track

are you sure bob, the second mic isn't recorded also? normally these interface mixers are for monitoring only, as tlwebb is describing. so you don't hear the muted mic in your headphones. and the raw signal (only influenced in gain by the hardware preamp setting) is sent directly to the daw. when you have set your record input on the track to stereo (or mix mono! which means input 1 and 2 get summed together) you get both channels into samplitude all the time, regardless of your roland interface mixer. check the recordinput setting on the track first, like terry is describing so nicely with his pictures.

  18. there are at least 3 ways in samplitude to accomplish the task you are describing (mixing down two a stereo file). that really can be confusing on top of what you were already describing here some of these options are doing basically the same thing, accompanied by some more special options, that may be explored piece by piece. 1) "mix to file" this one is actually a great option to start with, as it is so simple and straightforward. it just records the output of the masterbus into a file. the closest to analog i'd say. 2) "export" this one gives you many different file formats to export to and also the ability to use cd-markers from the project, to split the export into single files (or one continous with markers inserted). you can set trackmarkers (file startingpoint), pause markers (file will stop there, next file starts at the next track-index) and cd-end markers (the whole export process stops there). 3) "bounce" this is more specifically linked to tracks, selected regions, etc. inside your project. the corresponding bounce dialog gives you a lot of options, that want to be explored and tested. there are also options for fileformats, like with export. take your time to check all the options and do some experiments, to get a grip on it. when you have your masterfile ready, you can open it with samplitude directly. samplitude is also a very powerful wave-editor, which gets overlooked sometimes.

  22. regarding the discovery app: this little app is something i'd call "convenience"-feature, to access the controlsurface of the interface. what it does is to open the browser with the correct adress, like clicking a link. you can do that "by hand" also (as you probably did already), with typing the correct "adress" of the interface into the browser. it should be explained in the manual. then save that as a bookmark. you can also save the mixer and routing pages as bookmarks for faster access.
  23. wow, what a journey i didn't realize that this new motu interface has the same routing grid and dsp-mixer as my motu 112D (AVB-line). i know that quite well and yes, it's easy to get lost with the routing. on the other hand it is very flexible. just for your information, you don't need internet to access the webserver inside your interface, which gives you the controlsurface via webbrowser. the motu driver uses an http-server via usb from your computer to connect. it may look like internet, as this works with a browser, but has nothing to do with it. it is just a way to establish a connection between two nodes. one in your computer and one in the interface. so nothing to fear if comcast goes poof anyway, glad to hear you are up and running! for the future (this is going into the machineroom now): the basic principle for monitoring through the dspmixer in the interface is, to split the incoming signals from your mic/line inputs and route them to two destinations at the same time. one is the "usb to computer " (that's what you have now) and the other is dsp-mixer channels inside the interface. to see these mixerchannels, you have to activate them in the controlsurface (the one you get to via webbrowser). you can also specify how much channels you want to have. you activate and set the number of mixerchannels on the first page in the controlpanel. once you have that, you need to also route the "from computer (usb) " channels you use for playback (channels 1/2 of the asiodriver for example) to a channel of the dsp mixer. the output of the dsp-mixer (the masterbus) is then routed (again via the routing grid) to your headphone outputs of the interface itself. if this is all established, you can save that as a preset for the interface (again on the first page, to cover everything in one go. presets saved there contain routing, mixer, etc. ...) keep the mixer open via browser on your computer to balance your levels between microphone and playback. if needed you can put some effects on the mic to make the monitoring more pleasing if needed. everything you do in the dspmixer of the interface, has no effect on the recorded files, as these go directly from the interface to your computer/samplitude. the mixer in this configuration is only for monitoring purposes and you can set it freely to your liking. i'll stop here. don't hesitate to ask any questions. greetings, mathias
  24. from the decription of the slapback echo i would assume, it is hardware and softwaremonitoring at the same time. switching off software-monitoring (with the little knob in the transport panel) would be my suggestion. monitoring through the hardware directly if it offers this (which the motu does), is in most cases the best option. interface buffers can be higher this way and the risk of recording errors (lost buffers) is greatly reduced. as mentioned, the motu device also comes with effects for the monitor signal, which makes softwaremonitoring pretty much redundant.
