Eclectica studio here... I am locked out too. I get the error "username does not match any username in database"    Maybe its just those who have clearance to the beta area? Since its a different account level. I remember that happening when I was an Admin.

Hi Tim,

How Ironic!

It's also very nice to use on mobiles...

That may be.

But is takes too much space on a PC Monitor. I have to scroll down much more than before. I only get 2-3 posts on one screen.

Also I dont like the line spacing.

You see?

New line.

Avatars on the left take too much space. Quote button at the end of the post takes too much space. Before we had two different themes - one for mobile, one for PC. Would'nt that be better?

I'm agree with Georg, a lot of things are too big on the PC screen. The home page too, and how can I close the right panel ? before it was possible to close it.

Thanks for this job, even if it's not so important, it just a forum...

cheers

Phil

As a workaround, you might be able to use CTRL-minus sign to make everything smaller (and CTRL-plus sign to make it bigger again). CTRL-Zero returns everything to the default size.

No, not really. The page gets smaller horizontally as well.

And your signature eats up half of my monitor screen.... Some switch to hide signatures would be appreciated.

ok i will have a look to the avatar size.

the paragraph space is hard to find for me, i tried but it is the space for paragraph in the moment. but to make new lines without space then
you can
use
Shift+Return
Thats the normal way in WYSIWYG Editors.

Tom, thanks for looking into it. Not that it is soo important, though.
More important to get the Beta forum again.
And maybe the possibility to collapse the signatures?

Avatars on the left are smaller now.

I don't think that it is a good way to limit the signatures to a maximum, isn't ? You have this option to hide signatures?

Now I have all signatures hidden. How to bring them back?
And IMHO the avatars are not smaller than before.
This is what my monitor looks like (without Firefox menu). Only 2-3 posts can be viewed. I suggest moving the "quote" to the right.

the avatars are smaler then befor, i deactivated the reputation function and that was vislible in the avatar. now it is not shown anymore.

Yes i know some things are bigger then before but some people like it bigger some smaller, thats a subjective thing. And it is really like it is with all new things, first it is strange and new, but after a while you dont want to miss it. In the moment it is what it is. I will talk to some html guys maybe they can do more then me, but the customization is limited.

It definitely is a subjective thing. I like how it looks so far.

It is the CSS guys you want to talk to, not the HTML ones! (CSS determines the layout and design elements.)

For instance, in the .cPost CSS stylesheet, you could move the Quote and its plus sign with the following:

.ipsComment_controls {
  1. margin: 0;
  2. padding: 0;
  3. Margin-left: 843px;
}

(The Margin-left:843px; element is what is moving it. See the attached image.)

I did the change using the Inspector in Chrome, in case you are wondering.

Thanks for all your work on this, Tom!

I have caused all this commotion due to my signature which had grown to oversize over the last year, haven't I?  :-|

Turn them on again by going to your Account Settings to the "Signature" section, where you will see a toggle switch to turn other people's signatures' visibility on or off again.

@Terry: i said html, because my css changes are useless, thats why i need the html help.

Ahh - the CSS may be generated by javascript, and so be out of your reach. That would explain the dot before the stylesheet filename, as if it was a hidden temp file.

Tables to the rescue! (The old-fashioned way!) :-)

Thanks Terry,

i could not find that setting. But with your help, it works again.

Georg

Good to hear!

I tamed my sig a bit, so I hope this one is better and compels fewer people to want to hide signatures! I should follow your lead and make the text size nice and small, perhaps. I like that look.

[Edit: Voila!]
